Tip-O-The Thumb Haven
General Information

If you enjoy quiet natural beauty the way nature designed it, in a relaxed, unpretentious
neighborhood where neighbors roll up their sleeves if you need help, or just leave you alone
if you prefer;  if you enjoy being surrounded by woods and abundant and varied wildlife - then
this may be the place for you.

If you need city services, paved roads, well-groomed beaches with boat docks, a
convenience store nearby, and like keeping up with the “Joneses,” this may not be what you
are looking for.

This is a rural community with an eclectic mix of summer cottages and year-round
residences, mobile homes and site built homes.  We are bounded by Lake Huron at the
north and M-25 at the south , at the tip of Michigan’s thumb.  The closest town is Grindstone
City, about 3-1/2 miles to the west.

What some might think of as inconveniences are what helps keeps this area what it is – a
nature lover’s paradise.  Our private park for residents has over 300 feet of frontage on Lake
Huron.  The shoreline is a mix of sand and beautiful rocks.  Since you cannot easily pull a
boat up here, the lakefront is always quiet.  Those who have boats take them to neighboring
launches.  We have electric, telephone and cable services.  We maintain our own roads with
contributions from property owners, have septic fields for sewage disposal, and water is
supplied by having municipal water delivered to holding tanks.  This may seem like a unique
concept at first, but unless you have a year-round family, it is also the least expensive water
supply.
